Next Gem on the GlobalNagari we are are exploring the extraordinary journey of Reshma Nehe Bharatnatyam Dance teacher ,Performer and choreographer. “A good teacher is like a candle — it consumes itself to light the way for others.” Reshma learned to dance at a very young age of 10. She has been practicing and teaching dance lessons for more than 20 years. She started her first Dance school in Thane in the year 2002. 4 years ago in 2012 she moved to Norway from India. For the next 2 years Reshma taught Indian dance in the International British school in Stavanger. Now she runs Zankar Dance Academy where she teaches children and ladies dancing Indian classical and bollywood dance. The school participates in the Indian festival in Stavanger and the Netherlands. Of the Numerous performances she and her students have ,some of the enthralling performances were at Stavanger Cultural events like National Day of Norway on 17th May ,27th june 2016 Norways king and Queen visited in stavanger for their silver jubilee tour, Asia Festival in Oslo and In April 2016 performed at European Marathi Sammelan ,Netherlands.
Reshma Conducts workshops for her pupils. She conducted a seven day camp in 2006 in Sangamner her Native village. You might also know her as the choreographer for the winning performance of the Show "Julyanchi Spardha" on Doordarshan by Sheetal and Komal Arote. A great Dance Teacher supports his/her students and never gives up on them. Reshma has a knack of being sensitive to her pupils to their needs, regardless of ability or innate talent, and she works to find the best way to encourage each pupil. She is a great dance teacher who believes in them, encourages them, cheers their successes, and helps them understand and correct their mistakes.
